The 2009 Quest Award was received by Petland for National Service Dogs. Petland has partnered with National Service Dogs, a non-profit registered Canadian charity specializing in breeding, training and placing Labradors and Golden Retrievers with children who have autism. Petland, so far has raised $27,000 to support 9 dogs. The cost of raising, training and placing a National Service Dog is $18,000, which the family is responsible for. It takes at least two years to accomplish this goal. During specific times of the year, "paws" are available to purchase and all funds collected go directly to the family raising money for their own dog.
